If you haven't done so yet, you will definitely want to download and install the newest version of Vienna Instruments as soon as possible. It is a MAJOR upgrade to the current (or as they now refer to it, "classic") VI interface. The biggest change is that VSL is now using part of the VI Pro engine for the free VI, so you get many of the Pro features for free. The interface is much cleaner and easier to use, there's now a reverb included which is controllable via CC#14, the program now uses far less overhead in RAM so instruments load faster......the list goes on and on. Also, there is no longer a separate Vienna Ensemble download - the new VI download includes both and installs both at the same time! Here's the link....you must have an account at the VSL website and you must be logged into it in order to download: www.vsl.co.at/en/68/428/514/210.htmPlease share your experiences with the new VI 5.2 inside Finale.

There is another update to Vienna Instruments available today. It appears to be a minor fix. Specifically:
Vienna Instruments/Vienna Ensemble 5.2.11242 • Fixed the problem with volume increase for the first note played after silence • OS X: Installer and applications are now compatible with Gatekeeper in Mountain Lion OS X 10.8

The volume fix is helpful. Now when are they going to fix the inability to export audio files from Finale 2012b? ;-) That alone is making VSL almost totally unusable for me since I rely on Finale playback to generate .WAV files, and I don't want to have keep going back to Finale 2010 whenever I want to use VSL instruments (I skipped 2011 but wisely kept 2010 installed when I installed 2012).

That's a question for MM!
You can capture audio with a thrid party program like Audacity...

Been there, tried that........for some reason I can't get Audacity to hear what my MIDI/audio interface is spitting out, even though my speakers do. I've futzed with every setting with which there is to futz and no go.

What audio interface do you use?

M-Audio Fast Track Ultra USB.......I'm sure it has something to do with things not set up so that Audacity can hear signals coming in via USB, because it has worked in the past.
